Claudia Berger is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Transcultural Studies of the University of Erfurt. She is currently interested in 19th century expeditions culture as well as historical conceptions of territoriality century and their agency in transimperial interactions as well as negotiations of agency in imperial/colonial contexts in general. She is finalizing a book on protest techniques and imaginaries in the early twentieth century Cape Colony.
